8 Easy Ways to make Money on Internet

As long as you have the inclination, a little bit of expertise and some free time, you can earn some money on the internet from the comfort of your own home.

Here are some popular ways to make that quick extra buck.

1. Self Publish Books :  If you love writing and want to get a book published, Amazon offers a free service called Kindle Direct Publishing. The service allows anyone to self publish books on the Kindle (electronic) bookstore and earn royalties from sales.

There are two plans you can choose from — the 35% royalty works across any book sold in any country) while the 70% royalty plans works if you sell in a few select countries. Indian authors can choose to set prices specifically for the Indian bookstore and receive royalty payments in Indian currency as well.

2. Make and Sell your Applications :  With so many smartphones and tablets, app development can be a very lucrative business. You can learn about developing apps online — there are various tutorials available for free. That's the easy part — the hard part is coming up with an idea that 'clicks'.

Once you make an app, submit it to the respective app store, set a price and choose whether you want to earn from inapp advertising. Your earnings, after deducting the appropriate fees, will be paid monthly.

3. Sell old House Stuff Online : An easy way to earn some money on the internet is by selling old stuff that you have around the house. Websites like olx.in, quickr.com and http://craigslist.co.in provide a free classifieds platform.

You need to create an account, enter the product details, location, the expected price along with some photographs — listing usually go live within a couple of hours. Interested buyers can directly contact you and finalize the sale.

4. Start an Online Shop : With some creativity, you can learn to make handicrafts or if you know a wholesale dealer, purchase unique things at low prices. Once you have some stock ready, you can set up an online shop to sell these goods on sites like ebay.in or indiebazaar.com

Both sites have a simple signup process. After you get verified as a seller, they provide you with a step-by-step wizard to set your online store (how to add photos and details of items you want to sell).

5. Work Online for Money : The internet is full of bogus companies that promise to pay you for work but never will. For instance, all places that offer money to fill surveys or those that require payment up front are scammers.

Two popular and reliable places to find work are odesk.com and elance.com. Both have a similar system: set up a profile and take tests to prove your proficiency in certain areas.

Once done, you'll be listed as a contractor/ freelancer and people can hire you for an hourly rate. You can get paid more by working hard, getting better at what you do and getting good feedback (ratings) from your clients.

6. Sell your Photos Online : Numerous stock websites like shutterstock.com, shutterpoint.com and istockphoto.com host photographs submitted by members. Depending on the site's policy, you can earn between a 15 to 85% royalty on each sale.

The better the quality of photos and the larger your online portfolio, the more you will sell. Usually, each photograph you want to upload will have to be 'selected' by them first — and they usually have strict requirements of what can or cannot go on sale.

7. E-Tutoring : If you are fluent in any subject and have some tutoring experience, you can sign up on websites like 2tion.netor, tutorvista.com as an online tutor. The sites require you to create a tutor profile with details such as the subjects in which you are fluent, what classes/courses you want to teach, your experience level, preferred timings for tuitions and the remuneration expected.

After verification, the site lists your profile on their portal where interested students can connect with you for tuitions. You can opt for virtual workspaces with built in teaching aids like live chat and collaborative whiteboards. Once you get better at tutoring, you can increase your monthly earnings by teaching multiple students simultaneously.

8. Earn from Advertising : A reliable way to earn money is from Google AdSense on your blog/website or ads on your YouTube channel. To get started, create a Google AdSense account at google.com/adsense

You can use the same account with your blog, website or YouTube channel. To maximize earnings from your blog or website, your objective needs to be to get the maximum number of visitors possible.

Write about what you know and what you're passionate about. On YouTube, make sure that your videos are original and interesting. Promote your channel to get more views. Apart from views, your objective should also be to get more people to like/ favourite your video and to subscribe to your channel.

The build up will be slow and Google only makes payments once your balance crosses $100, so don't get disheartened. Persistent efforts pay off in the long run.

Edit your videos with Youtube

YouTube Video Enhancements lets webmaster add tweaks and effects to their videos in an easy way. Video Enhancements takes tools from the YouTube Video Editor, allowing webmaster to either enhance their eligible videos while maintaining the video’s ID, or save a new copy creating an entirely new video with their edits (through Save as). Saving changes on their video will allow webmaster to apply Quick Fixes and Effects while retaining their video’s unique URL, view count, comments, etc.

To access YouTube Video Enhancements, simply visit the Watch page of the video, webmaster want to edit, or:
  1. Log in to YouTube account
  2. Click username (located in the top right corner of any page) and select Video Manager
  3. On the right of the video, (which video webmaster wish to edit), click Edit button
  4. Webmaster will be taken to the edit info page for the video. Click Enhancements to start editing the video.
From this view, webmaster can easily shorten their video (Trim), reduce camera shake (Stabilize), turn their video into a black and white film (Black and White effect), and much more.

Note : In order to be eligible for saving changes on webmaster’s video through YouTube Video Enhancements, the video must :

  • Not have received over 1,000 views.
  • Not have a Content ID Match (Copyright infringements for Video or Music)

If webmaster’s video does not meet these conditions, they will not be able to save changes made to their video. Webmaster can still choose to Save As creating a new video with a new video URL that will contain the edits, but they will not be able to save changes to the original video.

Quick Fixes :

Under the Quick Fixes tab, webmaster can Trim and Rotate their video (represented by the buttons on the left of the edit screen), as well as adjust the Fill Light, Contrast, Color Intensity, etc. of their video.

To allow YouTube to make a smart change for webmaster’s video, Press the button on the far left titled, (I’m Feeling Lucky). This will apply YouTube's best guess for fixes that will enhance their video.

Webmaster can compare their edited video to the original by pressing play in the player box. Changes will not be committed until webmaster click Save at the top of the page, so webmaster have the ability to freely experiment and play. When webmaster click Save, their changes will go live on that video meaning YouTube Video Editing will not create a new video ID or URL for that video, and other users will not be able to see the unaltered video. To create a new video, click Save As.

Trimming :

To trim webmaster’s video to make it shorter, click the Trim  button in the top left of the Video Editing page. A thumbnail timeline of their video will appear beneath the player. Drag the large brackets on either side of the video frames to shorten video, or use the smaller arrows above and beneath the brackets to nudge the trimmers left or right. Webmaster can preview their changes before committing the changes by pressing Play in the player above. Once webmaster are satisfied with their changes, They can click on Done for saving changes in video.

Webmaster can always return to their clip and undo Trimming changes they have made. This holds true even after they published their changes. Simply return to the Video Editing page and click Trim. Nudge the arrows back to their previous location to undo their Trimming change.

Stabilizing :

Webmaster can make their video more stable (mitigating the effects of camera shake) by clicking the Stabilize button on the right. Stabilization will crop the sides of their video.

The Address Verification of new Publisher by Google AdSense.

What is address verification of the publisher by Google AdSense?

To protect the security of publisher, Google requires webmaster to verify their address before Google can send them payment checks. To do so, Google will mail a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to their payment address. Publisher will then need to enter this PIN within their Google account.

When will PIN arrive to their address?

Google will print and send the PIN to the publisher’s address by standard mail several days after their account balance reaches the verification threshold (10 Dollars) for the first time. PINs typically will arrive within 2-4 weeks, but it may take longer depending on the publisher’s location.

How does the PIN mailer look like?

Google will mail the PIN on a white postcard measuring 4.5 x 6 inch (11.4 x 15.2 cm). It looks like below image.

When does Publisher need to enter their PIN?

The publisher will have 6 months from the date their first PIN is generated to enter it in their accounts. If they haven't entered it in their accounts after 4 months, Google will stop to display ads on the publisher’s websites.

What if the PIN doesn't arrive in time to the publisher’s location?

Google understand that the PIN can fail to reach the publisher’ address. That's why publishers can request 2 additional replacement PINs if they don't receive their first PIN within proper time.

Can the publisher send Google a copy of their official identity document or domestic bill?

Yes. If the publishers have requested their maximum of 3 PINs and they have not received any of them within 4 weeks of their last PIN request. In that case, publisher will see a notice on their account page with further instructions on how to send Google an official document (It can be Driving License, Passport, Electricity Bills or any Government Document where publisher address is clearly written with their Name) proving their address through a contact us form.

What ad styles are the most successful?

If you want the biggest revenue impact for the smallest effort, we recommend optimizing your ad styles. Choosing the right ad styles can mean the difference between ads your users will notice -- and click -- and ads they'll skip right over.
We've outlined a few strategies below that are designed to decrease ad blindness, the tendency for users to ignore anything that's separate from the main content of your site. By making these changes, you'll be making your ads more visible to users. The goal isn't to confuse users into thinking ads are content, but to get users to see and read the ads so they can click on those that interest them.
The color strategy you should use on your site varies depending on the ad placement and the color of the background where the ads are placed. Review the table below for a quick reference about which strategies we suggest will work well on your site.

Ads within contentAds adjacent to content
Light background behind adsBlendBlend or complement
Dark background behind adsBlend, complement, or contrastContrast or complement

Let's briefly define the three techniques you can use to design ad styles that will be successful for your site:
  • To blend, make the background and borders of your ads the same color as the background of your page where the ad is placed. If your site has a white background and you don't want to spend a lot of time choosing ad colors, we recommend using pre-designed Google default ad style.
  • To complement, use colors that already exist on your site, but don't match the background and borders exactly where the ads are placed.
  • To contrast, choose colors that stand out against the background of your site. Contrasting is recommended only for sites with dark background, so we suggest using an ad style with white background, white borders, and blue titles.
For most color techniques, we recommend using colors for your ad text and links that already exist on your site. For example, if the links on your site are all green and your text is black, use green links and black text in your ads as well. Since most users are accustomed to seeing blue links, you might also try using blue.
In general, use common sense when choosing your ad styles. If your site's main colors are pastels, don't design ads that are all primary colors. Users won't click on ads that are visually offensive.
Even if your ads are designed perfectly, the techniques above might not work for a couple reasons:
  • Does your site have mainly repeat visitors?
If your visitors come back day after day, they'll likely become blinded to the position of the ads over time, regardless of the ad colors. Try customizing the way your ad looks or occasionally switching the location of your ads on the page.
  • Does your site have a lot of ads and busy content?
If your site is filled with ads or packed with loads of competing content, chances are that you'll need to use more visually arresting colors to make your ads catch a user's eye. If the techniques above aren't getting results for you, try using more prominent ad styles
Tip for making your ads visible : open your page and give it a quick glance, putting yourself in the mindset of a regular user. Do the ads draw your attention, without being garish? Would you be likely to notice and read them, or do your eyes glide right past them? Try to find a balance between ads that overwhelm your content and ads that your users won't even see.
